I just checked the gas-980331 snapshot on these configurations:
- hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20
- m68k-motorola-sysv (aka `delta')
- m88k-motorola-sysv3 (aka `delta88')
- sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1
- sparc-sun-sunos4.1.4
I didn't observe any problem!
