Hi,
I have downloaded the binutils source from the following link,
ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/binutils/snapshots/
I have created different folders for build, prefix and source, name as build, prefix and source.
Then I configured and make the binutils from the build folder as given below,
cd build
./../source/binutils-050120/configure --target=sh-elf --prefix=/home/prefix
make
make install
In this way I am able to build binutils-2.15 successfully, but geting mentioned error for binutils-050120.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Nitin Shah.

Hi,
It should work as suggested by Khem.
If not then let me know from which place did you downloaded the
binutils build?

Hi,
The error may be because of you are using a snapshot, The code in the
snapshots has generally been in the tree for approximately one month,
but that doesn't guarantee that anyone other than the implementor tested
it. I believe that community will fix it in the release.

I hope you are not doing configure inside the src directory
here is how I would do it.
make a obj-binutils folder parallel to binutils src
cd obj-binutils
../src/configure <your options>
make
you should call configure which is in src folder and not one in
src/binutils
