Maybe.  If the examples are small and not "legally significant" then
you can include them without the copyright.  Although acknowledging
their source is proper.  If however the examples are legally significant
then the copyright notice should be included, and you should make it
clear as to exactly which parts of the ld.text documentation are
covered by the license.

The definition of legally significant can be found in section 6.2 of
the GNU Maintainers guidelines, and details about accepting non-FSF
copyrighted code can be found in section 6.4.1:
