I get with current cvs on x86-64 the following warning with all (?)
object files:
/opt/x86-64/x86_64-unknown-linux/bin/ld: /builds/glibc/x86-64-shared/math/test-double.o: access beyond end of merged section (-4 + 0)
Can somebody shed some light where I have to look for?

The current binutils is broken. See my emails about broken bfd.
