I also would like to be able to manipulate recorded dependencies, rpaths, etc... This last I think I can get with ld anyways, but it would be nice if objcopy could handle it. Having zero experience with libbfd but otherwise being able to program C, what are my chances of being able to fix objcopy or add an option to rename undefined symbols? What about dependency manipulation? Would there be any patches floating around that might provide the functionality I seek? Also, can the output of objdump generally be re-assembled into an object file equivalent to its input? The version of objcopy I'm using is 2.10.1.
