Hi,
It seems anonymous CVS checkout does not work although writable CVS
checkout works.
$ cvs -z 9 -d :pserver:anoncvs@sourceware.org:/cvs/src co binutils
cvs [checkout aborted]: unrecognized auth response from sourceware.org:

I believe this can happen if the load on the sourceware CVS machine
goes above a certain limit.
