Let's start with a clean slate. I am submitting several patches mainly
for DragonFlyBSD benefit. The config.guess, config.rpath, and
config/tcl.m4 have been removed from the composite patch file.

1) binutils-current.B.patch: Apply to trunk
2) binutils_221.B.patch: Apply to binutils-2_21-branch
There are 9 files patched by these files. The following commit messages
are good for both trunk and 2.21:
   2011_03_08_changelog.txt
   2011_03_08_changelog.ld.txt
   2011_03_08_changelog.bfd.txt
   2011_03_08_changelog.gas.txt
   2011_03_08_changelog.gold.txt

3) config.guess.current.patch
4) config.guess.221.patch
Pending GCC requirements, the preceding patches will update config.guess
to the last version defined by project/config. Use the following commit
message: 2011_MM_DD_changelog.guess.txt

5) config.rpath.current.patch
6) config.rpath.221.patch
Pending GCC requirements, the preceding patches will update config.guess
to the last version defined by project/gnulib. Use the following commit
message: 2011_MM_DD_changelog.repath.txt

I understand it could be a while before patches 4 --- 6 can be safely
incorporated. It would be nice to have patch 1 and 2 incorporated soon
though.

Regards,

John

changelog paths are relative to the file they go into. since these entries go
into bfd/ChangeLog, the paths should be relative to that. so drop "bfd/" from
all of these.

btw, when Ralf talked about gcc, he meant they should be submitted to gcc-
patches@gcc.gnu.org first.

Okay, that was a mistake on my part. But can whoever commits this just
fix it on the fly? Is another set of file submissions really
necessary? (aimed at somebody that can commit these, not you Mike)

Ok. That wasn't clear what he meant.

John

Hi,
I submitted these patches via mail list a few days ago and nobody with a
commit bit seems to be picking it up. Is there somebody specific that I
need to talk to? What needs to happen to get these pretty trivial
configuration changes into the trunk and branch 2.21?

Regards,
John

P.S. We are talking about #1 and #2 only, and the commit messages need
to be corrected on the fly for both the date and to remove the path
prefix on the listed change files.
