Hi
I have been adding a « history » chapter to my documentation, and I have some questions about it.
1) Why there isn’t any AUTHORS file?
2) The earliest CONTRIBUTORS file that I found was binutils 2.19. (1988). Is there any earlier version?
3) What about later versions?
4) At the end of the CONTRIBUTORS file I found the name of A. Modra, and I know that he is still active in this endeavor.
Maybe you could help me a bit Alan?
Some people you want to name that are absent from the CONTRIBUTORS (1988) file?
Pointers to later AUTHORS file?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jacob

The GNU binutils doesn't use an AUTHORS file. For that matter,
neither does GCC.

I'm not sure what the 1988 reference is here, unless you are referring
to the original version of gas. I think the binutils 2.19 release was
in 2008.

See the ChangeLog files, which date back to 1992.
