In 2.35 it's documented as: l This modifier is accepted but not used. at least the build fails in https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/afterstep/2.2.12-14/+build/20720741 I don't know about the history of this modifier, but giving it a completely new meaning is odd. In about a week I can give you a list of packages from a distribution test rebuild, failing to build because of this. Matthias
