I've just compiled
binutils 2.11.2 on AIX4.3. I didn't notice any errors and it seem to finish OK.
However upon checking the bin directory in the install area there was no ld.
OTher items such as as and ar were present.

Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks

Graham

Hi Graham,

For which target architecture ?

That sounds strange. Have you checked the config.status and
config.cache files (at the top level) to see if there are any clues in
there ?

Was ld built but not installed ? ie does the ld directory exist in
the build tree (assuming that yiu are using separate source and build
trees) and if so, does it have object files and an executable in it ?

Cheers
        Nick
