Is there any way to see what a pmacro expands into before it is parsed by
cgen? For debugging purposes ..

Yep. I forget the details but it's something like
make CGENFLAGS='-v'
[or maybe -v -v -v -v, I seem to remember I show pmacro expansion
at a debugging level of 4].
