One useful property of a CPU that I think meets the application-neutral
requirement for new .cpu entries is its initial state -- the power-up values
for registers, in particular.

This would help in generating simulator code whereby the code could be a)
automatically generated by CGEN and b) remembered. :-)

It is application independent, but it's also not useful to more
than a few apps.  I also wonder whether certain chips have different
kinds of resets.

I'm not sure where the best place to record the information is
but I'm slightly leaning toward tucking this info away by itself.

IMO, these values are not really interesting outside of simulators,
nor that well-defined.  (power-up reset vs. process-model initial
values // which exact cpu model ...?)
