Hi,

I recently got my Hitachi SH cross compiler going on my Linux machine. But
I am experiencing some unexplained phenom.
Within my program I write:

unsigned char i;

However, when I look at my assembler listing I see the following:

0116    00b4    00000000        .long    _i

Towards the end I see the following:

0157    00f4    00090009        .comm _i, 4
0157               00090009
0157               00090009

And finally at the bottom of the listing I see:

UNDEFINED SYMBOLS
_i

It seems like it doesn't know how to allocate the memory for this integer.
Does anyone know why it list four 'No Ops' (0009) at line 157 and why 'i'
remains an undefined symbol? I 've tried unsigned char, unsigned int,
unsigned long and nothing changes. It remains an undefined symbol.

Thanks for any help on this.
