There are a few points I really want to get fixed before inclusion: 1) do not build our own static zlib, use the distro's packaged one. 2) make the companion libraries build statically. I got burned twice, and bailed out. Start there: http://gcc.gnu.org/install/configure.html and look for --with-host-libstdcxx= 3) The rest was trivial eye-candy. Also, forget about Firmware Linux, they're still using a pre-GPLv3 gcc which IIRC wass 4.2.1, which means it does not need/use the companion libraries that are now required with gcc-4.3 and 4.4.
