As said in other replies, I think this should go upstream.

Maintaining support for architecture and/or variants in crosstool-NG is
doomed to failure in the long run.

The support is only added for one version of the tools, namely
binutils-2.21.1a and gcc-4.6.0. Saying that Sparc-Leon is supported would be
confusing for users, when they choose other versions, and supporting them on
the support channels would be quite a burden.

Then, comes the issue of maintaining those patches in the long run. Although
I do not doubt your good will, experience has shown that this kind of
submission is not maintained for a long time after inclusion.

That being said, I recognise the fact that you do need this. I would suggest
that you keep those patches local, and tell crosstool-NG to use an alternate
location where to look for components' patches:

  Paths and misc options  --->
    Patches origin  --->
      (X) Bundled, then local
    (/path/to/leon/patches)    Local patch directory

This way, crosstool-NG will apply the bundled patches (as usual, I'd say),
and then look for more patches in the local patch directory.

Yann E. MORIN.
