However, I find that the full ia64 optimization contribution incl sw pipelining is probably missing in 4.1.1. Therefore I am interested to know which version will proved the full ia64 works while successfully being built as a cross compiler on gcc. I have a hint that uptil recent past, ia64 gcc was a strong priority so it is likely that going past 4.1.1 is a possibility.
