It has many features to process text files and to do system management tasks (as in Perl). It is simple, straight-forward, and extensible. This is an update to the latest bugfix for the 2.2 branch. The C development files are now in a separate -devel package, and compatibility with Cygwin 2.5.2 has been fixed as reported here: https://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2016-06/msg00377.html -- Yaakov
