Date: Sun, 21 Jan 2024 13:11:00 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20240121131100.23422-1-Brian.Inglis@SystematicSW.ab.ca> (raw)

The following packages have been upgraded in the Cygwin distribution:

* ncurses			6.4-20240120
* ncurses-demo			6.4-20240120
* terminfo			6.4-20240120
* terminfo-extra		6.4-20240120
* libncurses-devel		6.4-20240120
* libncurses++w10		6.4-20240120
* libncursesw10			6.4-20240120

The ncurses (new curses) library is an emulation of Sys V R 4
curses, and more. It uses terminfo format, supports pads, color,
multiple highlights, forms characters, function key mapping,
and has all the other SVR4 curses enhancements over BSD curses.

For more information see the project home page:

As there are multiple components and many changes each release see below
or read /usr/share/doc/ncurses/ANNOUNCE and /usr/share/doc/ncurses/NEWS
after installation:

This Cygwin release adds some more useful standard terminal definitions
that could be expected to be available in Base package terminfo from
optional additional terminal definitions package terminfo-extra:

bracketed-paste, cygwin*, dumb*, mintty*, mrxvt-*color, rxvt*, tek4014*.
