The following packages have been updated in the Cygwin distribution:
*** xorg-server-*1.17.2-2
These packages contain XWin and the other X.Org X11 servers.
The following cygwin-specific changes have been made since 1.17.2-1:
* In multiwindow mode, enable the maximize window control if a maximum
size larger than the virtual desktop size is specified
Addresses: https://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2015-08/msg00042.html
* In multiwindow mode, give NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_DOCK type windows the
SKIPTASKBAR style
* Add an experimental '-compositewm' option for multiwindow mode
* In multiwindow mode, when resizing a window, black fill the area
outside the current window size
EXPERIMENTAL '-compositewm' OPTION
==================================
This experimental option uses Composite extension redirection to
maintain a bitmap image of each top-level X window, so that window
contents which are occluded when the window is not at the top of the
stacking order are shown correctly in task bar and task switcher previews.
This comes at the cost of keeping an additional copy of the bits in the
window image and copying that around a few more times. I'm not sure if
the additional memory use or reduced drawing speed will be noticeable on
any vaguely modern system.
Testing and feedback welcomed.
NOTEWORTHY CHANGES IN 1.17
==========================
The creation of indirect GLX contexts is now prohibited by default. The
+iglx option is required to allow them. See [1] for more information on
possible OpenGL configurations.
'-nolisten tcp' is now the default, so the server only accepts local
connections on a unix domain socket. A '-listen' option has been added
which can be used to restore the previous behaviour.
