The robodoc package was just declared orphaned. As I use it for
cygport's documentation, I might as well take it:

ftp://ftp.cygwinports.org/pub/cygwinports/release-2/robodoc/

Cool.

Btw., per cygwin-pkg-maint we only have 9 orphaned packages. I don't
believe that even one second, but these 9 packages are already orphaned
for a long time. Shouldn't we remove them? At least pdksh should go,
given that we have a modern replacement. What about the rest?

Here's the list:

  Name Orphaned Replacement	Comment
		since

  cramfs 2005
distcc 2005 Builds with just a few minor tweaks.
  ioperm 2003 Dead upstream
jgraph	2003 Dead upstream. Linux jgraph is
  					another project.
  mtd 2005
  nfs-server 2006
  pdksh 2003 mksh
ping 2005 Only works for Admin
  x2x 2004

fwiw, x2x hasn't been meaningfully updated upstream since then, probably still
works, but I'm not sure if it's actually useful to anyone, so I'd tend to go
for removal.

Using synergy is probably a better solution to this problem in almost every
respect.

Indeed. Here is a quick scan of the list of maintainers who have not
posted to cygwin or cygwin-apps for a few years:

Andreas Seidl (TeXmacs) -- 2005
Daniel Boesswetter (tcm) -- 2003
Dave & Diane (mlcscope) -- 2009
Joe Linoff (ccdoc) -- 2004
Jonathan C. Allen (bsflite, keychain, naim, ncftp, tnef) -- 2007
Mauricio Antune (rlwrap) -- 2006
Robert Richter (apache-1.x) -- 2005
Ross Smith II (email) -- 2009
Stefan Bjoernelund (aspell-sv) -- 2007
Volker Quetschke (grace, ImageMagick) -- 2008
Yitzchak Scott-Thoennes (fortune) -- 2009

Cool, thanks you! Hey, guys, is anybody of you still alive, still using
Cygwin, still interested in maintaining your packages, and would like to
take the opportunity to update your packages to a newer upstream version?

Thanks,

Corinna,

Still around, and still use Cygwin daily.

Sorry for the delay. I've been out of the country.

I'd be happy to update the email package once I return to the US next week.

Somehow I missed the cppunit update request from Yaakov, so I no
longer maintain it, sorry.

No worries and thanks for your reply. A new email package would be
nice.

I'm still monitoring Cygwin, it's just so good I don't need to say anything ;-)

Unfortunately Lucent have taken down the public mlcscope, so there will be no updates to it. There hasn't been any activity around it on the Cygwin mailing lists that I've seen. If I've missed something, I need to fix my filters...

Cheers
Dave (Trollope)

Racing season begins!
