Please change perl_vendor to perl-URI.

I asked Corinna to use the 32-bit package for 64-bit release as well,
but I guess that wasn't a good idea. I won't do that again. Sorry for
the trouble.

There are of course other packages that could be called missing because
they haven't been ported to x86_64 yet, and other packages that depend on
them can't be released until they are. There are two that I'm waiting on:

ocaml - for orpie and unison
rgb - for sng

Ah, good point. I'll check tomorrow and make a more comprehensive list.

I'm trying to minimize the number of gotchas in rolling out x86_64 and
having missing packages is one that we should be able to relatively
easily fix.

This list might not be complete - for instance 'clang' (and its
sub-packages) are missing from 64-bit Cygwin, and they are also not in
Yaakov's list. (I tried generating my own list, but my simple bash
script didn't knock out obsolete packages and hence generated a lot of
noise).

The converse is also true - there are packages in 64-bit-land that don't
have a 32-bit equivalent - examples include hostname, libmhash2 and
libturbojpeg. I've attached this list - we can ignore any package
starting 'cygwin32', but everything else deserves some attention.

Cheers,

Dave.

My list is based on source packages only, not binary (sub)packages, so
clang (which is a subpackage of llvm) is not listed.

To register what has been discussed before in this thread: I can provide
upx for 64bit if anybody wants it, but unfortunately it can't deal with
64bit executables and therefore is nearly useless.

Achim.

Ah - hadn't spotted that. I was temporarily giddy with excitement when I
thought that clang had made its way into 64-bit Cygwin, only to have my
hopes dashed moments later... :-)

Cheers,

Dave.

It still can be used in cross-compiling scenarios, so please proceed at
your convenience.

Since this is based on source packages, it misses that gcc-java is not
yet in the distribution, hence pdftk cannot be built.

I'm compressing the 64-bit setup.exe with mhash.

For anyone interested, it's at: http://cygwin.com/setup-x86_64.exe

It's not as small as the 32-bit setup but it is quite a bit smaller than
the non-compressed version.

The mirror checker is now checking that mirrors have up-to-date versions
of 64-bit and 32-bit packages. I'll start regularly building
/var/ftp/cygwin/x86_64/setup.ini as soon as the package list is
internally consistent.

The current list:

upset: *** /sourceware/ftp/pub/cygwin/x86_64/setup.ini: warning - package openbox requires nonexistent package xprop
upset: *** /sourceware/ftp/pub/cygwin/x86_64/setup.ini: warning - package openbox requires nonexistent package xsetroot
upset: *** /sourceware/ftp/pub/cygwin/x86_64/setup.ini: warning - package python3-pyqt4 requires nonexistent package python3-dbus
upset: *** /sourceware/ftp/pub/cygwin/x86_64/setup.ini: warning - package xinit requires nonexistent package xrdb

These are all fixed now.

Sorry, make that "mpress".

http://www.matcode.com/mpress.htm

I had to tweak things a little and remove the '.tls' section from setup.exe
before compressing it. Otherwise mpress refused to compress the program.

About OCaml, I've tried to compile it, and the bytecode version seems to work OK, but the native compiler will need some porting and I'm quite busy now with the next release of OCaml, so I figured I would resume working on it after the release (sometime in August). Is this really a blocking point?

It is for orpie and unison, yes, since they're written in OCaml.

Thanks for the update. Whenever OCaml is ready for x86_64, I'll test it by
building those two packages.

Hi all,

About missing packages in 64-bits, I have just released Varnish 3.0.5 at
32 and 64 bits.

Regards.
