Umm, VIm with multiple horizontal windows?  Or any text containing
tables?  In fact, that's why VIm added the "box select" feature...

Well, the implication was that if *you* don't use a particular feature, it
is not at all useful to *anyone*, which is plainly wrong.

Dave, I just wanted to check in with you to see if you were ok.

I, for one, always enjoy the humor and the sarcasm.  I hope you weren't too
discouraged that this enjoyment is not universal.

But what do I know?  I use a Windows shell all the time.

Heh. Glad I didn't send a similar reply to the main list (and before 
reading the thread on -talk, at that :-) ). And you can add kate to the 
list of editors with block selection (I thought vim had it also, but my 
vim-fu is practically non-existent).
