From: Harold L Hunt II <huntharo@msu.edu> To: cygwin-xfree-announce@cygwin.com Subject: New package: nedit-5.3-1 Date: Tue, 02 Dec 2003 06:22:00 -0000 [thread overview] Message-ID: <3FCC2F94.7040509@msu.edu> (raw) The package 'nedit' is now available with the Cygwin distribution. o http://nedit.org/ (Homepage) o http://nedit.org/source.shtml (Download location) DESCRIPTION: ============ NEdit is a multi-purpose text editor for the X Window System, which combines a standard, easy to use, graphical user interface with the thorough functionality and stability required by users who edit text eight hours a day. It provides intensive support for development in a wide variety of languages, text processors, and other tools, but at the same time can be used productively by just about anyone who needs to edit text. NEdit, which is entirely a volunteer effort, benefits from a strong developer and user community. As of version 5.1, NEdit may be freely distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. NEdit was originally developed on a Unix system and is available on all major Unix and Linux systems. But NEdit can also run on other platforms, if there is a working X environment available. For instance, NEdit runs on MacOS X, OS/2 and MS Windows. Harold -- To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Once you've downloaded setup.exe, run it and select "Editors" and then click on the appropriate fields until the above announced version numbers appear if they are not displayed already. If your mirror doesn't yet have the latest version of this package after 24 hours, you can either continue to wait for that site to be updated or you can try to find another mirror. Please send questions or comments to the Cygwin/X mailing list at: cygwin-xfree@cygwin.com If you want to subscribe go to: http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-xfree/ I would appreciate if you would use this mailing list rather than emailing me directly. This includes ideas and comments about the setup utility or Cygwin/X in general. If you want to make a point or ask a question the Cygwin/X mailing list is the appropriate place.
