Yes, I can reproduce it. It seems that the XRANDR data which XWin returns isn't quite complete, which tickles a bug in Gnome [1] "primaryMonitor is undefined", which prevents the login greeter from being displayed. I've been testing a fix for that issue in XWin. This gets you the greeter login screen. Unfortunately there seem to be other bugs, which prevent login from working. These also occur when starting an XDMCP session from linux, so I don't think these are XWin issues.
