I have a new Pentium 4 2.6 GHz running XP pro. I installed the entire cygwin program and had the x portion of it running fine. Was able to set xhost +, then telnet to another machine, export the display to the local IP, and run any x software I wanted. Now after installing Pro/E it no longer works. After exporting the display and then running lets say emacs it returns after a very long time and says Chek the DISPLAY environment variable or use ‘-d’. Also use the ‘xhost’ program to verify that it is set to permit connections from your machine.

Are there any known problems with Pro/E or McAfee firewall? I thought I had the McAfee installed before installing cygwin and have double checked that the machines IP address is allowed through the firewall.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Craig

What is Pro/E?

Also try disabling the firewall and check the firewall log.
