Thanks for the help Randall but I was looking for the ported version
that is already available. I had cygwin beta 23 or something like that. It
did scrolling and everything from the get go. I downloaded those files but
for some reason I think if I tried to install them it will mess up my
windows. I'm not too sure where to begin there. Tried to follow those
instructions but seem kinda confusing. Isn't there an easier way to get
scrolling capability for the cygwin? If it was like the prior releases I
wouldn't be having this problem.. Ah well thanks..

You don't have to remind us that Cygwin B20 was far superior to the
current releases. Why did the developers ever have to change it? I think
the answer is in the cygwin archives:

Very funny there Michael. Anyway I thought this was a message forum to
help? Not hinder. Randall was helping. Just clearing that up for ya Michael.
;-) Does this experimental code have the scrolling option? anyone?

I don't think that is correct. See http://cygwin.com/lists.html:
cygwin: a high volume list for discussion of just about all things
Cygwin-related.
It says discussion, never anything about help. ;-)
But Randall certainly was helping. He provided you with no fewer than
three different solutions to your problem. I suggest you follow the one
that he mentioned twice: install rxvt from the Cygwin setup and use it
instead of command.com.

Okay I missunderstood him. I thought all of what he was suggesting
wasn't part of the installation program. Had some interesting directions.
Anyway I'm downloading the RXVT right now as I type this message. Thanks for
your help.
Dantin
P.S. Was really tired last night trying to get a spanish to english
translation of a program completed. Sorry.

I second (or third, or fourth) the recommendation of rxvt. I use it
on 98,2000 and XP machines. It makes for a great little (or big, or...)
window.
I learned about it from reading the archives, it is what got me into
regular, many times a day reading. (Yes, I need to get a life)
