Is $HOME set in your cygnus.bat? See faq.txt ("How can I get bash to read
my .bashrc file on startup?")

Halim,

I usually put a sequence like the following in my .bash_profile:
<EXAMPLE>

if [ -f ~/.bashrc ] source ~/.bashrc

</EXAMPLE>
Don't include the pseudo-tags. Hope that helps.

You have to start bash as a 'login' shell to have it read
~/.bash_profile
like this:
% bash --login

hi,

i'm using the new bash 2.04 release and it doesn't seem to be reading my
.bash_profile file -- am i doing something wrong? (i didn't use the file
until just a few minutes ago so the problem didn't occur until just now!).

thank you,
