That's great work, and I can confirm that it is the same in my
environment. Our makefiles start the following:
* Several cygwin utilities (e.g. cygpath, cut, sed, etc.)
* Linux cross-compilers/linkers that are cygwin programmes
* Windows native compilers/linkers (not cygwin)
* HPE Nonstop cross-compilers/linkers (not cygwin)
So what you've found is consistent with the issue that we're getting.
