On the contrary, I've been using LyX under Windows for a few months now,
without problems. I'm using the Miktex distribution for tex, latex, etc. I
don't remember the URL but I'm sure that if you start out at www.tug.org you
can find it. I have noticed that choosing "Export latex" doesn't work, but
choosing "Export dvi" will export both a latex and a dvi file.
