Why haven't you provided the contents of the stackdump?

19990819 snapshot seems to be very stable. I was in hurry and could not
post the stack files. With 19990830 dlltools, dllwrap and ar.exe's
were coredumping. I reinstalled the 19990830 snapshot

I assume problem was with cygwin1.dll of 19990830 snapshot. and ar.exe
from B20.1
After installing cygwin-inst-19990830.tar.gz
If you install the cygwin1.dll from 19990902 (cygwin1-19990902.dll.gz),
then everything is fine... nore more ar.exe, and dlltools.exe core dumps.

The "core dumping in ar or ld" problem should be fixed in the most
recent snapshot.

Fortunately I had the similar exception last night. The ar.exe has
been successful for b20.1 and 19990819 snapshot but failed on
19990830.

19990819 snapshot seems to be very stable. I was in hurry and could not
post the stack files. With 19990830 dlltools, dllwrap and ar.exe's
were coredumping. I reinstalled the 19990830 snapshot

I assume problem was with cygwin1.dll of 19990830 snapshot. and ar.exe
from B20.1
After installing cygwin-inst-19990830.tar.gz
If you install the cygwin1.dll from 19990902 (cygwin1-19990902.dll.gz),
then everything is fine... nore more ar.exe, and dlltools.exe core dumps.

And what do I do with this information?
Why haven't you provided the contents of the stackdump?

We've identified the problem with the 19990830 snapshot.
The "core dumping in ar or ld" problem should be fixed in the most
recent snapshot.
