Because later on the page it has cvs echoing "sourceware.cygnus.com":

   bash$ cvs login
   (Logging in to anoncvs@sourceware.cygnus.com)
   CVS password: anoncvs

Now, I see.  I got confused with the name of my local directory and the
"directory" on the cvs server.  Thanks!

Oops, my mistake.  I'll fix it.  It should read
anoncvs@anoncvs.cygnus.com

I must be doing something wrong.  I also tried sourceware.cygnus.com (the
web page http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/cvs.html is inconsistent, it
seems):

> cvs -t login
cvs login: notice: main loop with 
   CVSROOT=:pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.cygnus.com:/usr/cvs/src
(Logging in to anoncvs@anoncvs.cygnus.com)
CVS password:
cvs [login aborted]: authorization failed: server anoncvs.cygnus.com 
   rejected access

Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.10.3.1 (client/server)

Huh?  Why is it inconsistent?  It mentions anoncvs.cygnus.com and that's what
you should use.

Take a look at the web page again.  It's not /usr/cvs/src that you should be
using.  It's '/cvs/src'.
