Hello,

Installing Cygnwin on a very raw NT4sp5 machine I get the messages:

Installing binutils-19990818-1.tar.gz
/cygdrive/c/cygtemp/tar: usr: Could not create directory: No such file
or direct
ory
/cygdrive/c/cygtemp/tar: usr/bin: Could not create directory: No such
file or di
rectory
/cygdrive/c/cygtemp/tar: usr/lib: Could not create directory: No such
file or di
rectory
/cygdrive/c/cygtemp/tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

I have a feeling that:

	http://sourceware.cygnus.com/ml/cygwin/2000-04/msg00471.html

indicates that it is fixed and I just suffered from bad timing.

	enjoy,
		Andrew

PS: Suggest putting ``Net Release 1.1.0'' at the top of some of the
latest web pages. It's really confusing trying to figure out if what
your looking at relates to this current release rather than previous
releases.

Btw, there is a "latest release" at the top of the page as well as a
"New Cygwin Net Release", dated April 17, 2000 right underneath it. I'm
not sure how anyone could be confused by this.

What happened was:

o	I encountered that error message

	o	I went searching (FAQ, Doco, ...)
and they all refered to 20??b
		but nothing mentioned ``setup.exe''

If the ``latest release'' said at the top ``The latest release is ....''
I'd have quickly realised that that specific release hadn't yet filtered
through to things like FAQ and doco. Instead I'm looking trhough the
documentation trying to find something that isn't yet there.

Make any sense?

	enjoy,
		Andrew

That would sort of presuppose the manpower of going through all of the web
pages which could equally be served by actually changing the web pages to
accomodate the new release. That will be coming soon.

Ok. I added a note to the top of the html version of the FAQ. It will
be wiped out as soon as someone actually changes the sources for the FAQ
but, hopefully, this will indicate that the FAQ will be up-to-date with
the net release.
