You also _MUST_ run setup.exe from MSDOS.  You _MUST_ not have any other Cygwin
process running.

Chris, does setup check for Cygwin sessions running and die on startup?

No.  It's a good idea but I don't know of any easy way to check for this.
The cygwin DLL that is bundled with setup is built specially so that it
*shouldn't* interfere with another running cygwin but I'm not 100% sure
that that is the case.

You don't have the correct version of umount installed yet.  You can also use
REGEDIT to remove the entries.  Search for Cygnus in the keys.  Delete the
invalid mount entries.

I've tried to fix this problem, although I can't duplicate it, precisely.

I've just uploaded setup Revision 1.29 to sourceware.cygnus.com.  Please
try this again and let cygwin@sourceware.cygnus.com know if it worked or
not.

Make sure that you are running revision 1.29.  The revision is displayed
when setup first starts.

All I get is "umount: Invalid argument"
when trying "umount --remove-all-mounts".  umount --help, /?, etc. reveals
no info to ensure I am doing a valid option.  Anything on that?  Where is
help info on the commands?

I found the entry in the registry and deleted the bad one.  Rerunning setup
results in the same issues as before.

What are the pre-reqs to install this?  Does it need to be installed in any
special directory hierarchy?

Setup: Rev 1.25, built 4/21 @11:31.
OS: Win 95 SR2 (I haven't tried on my NT Wks machine yet)
Mount output:
Device           Directory           Type        Flags
\                c:                  native      text!=binary
C:               /                   native      text!=binary

Root dir: No, the install target directory was not empty as I accepted the
default of [c:\] as the root, as I did as my mount for b20.  It placed many
bin files in /bin, created /lib, /usr, and /usr w/files (and subdirs in
/usr).  An ls -lR will give you my whole drive...so that infers:
Should the target install dir be a separate dir off DOS root, as was done by
setup in b20?  When I have a chance later, I will install to a separate dir
to see if that changes any results.
