* spaces in user names or home directories should be OK now (but other
  programs may not like them)

* if a package isn't installed due to errors, it isn't listed as being
installed, so you can try again.

* packages won't show up as "keep" in the chooser just because there's
  a previous version available.

* /etc/profile won't run ~/.profile (i.e. bash will run ~/.profile *once*)

* If installing from a local directory with setup.ini, setup will look
for files in the paths given in setup.ini *and* in ".".

* Setup will complain if it can't find the .tar.gz file to install.

To get the profile changes, delete /etc/profile and re-run setup, even
if you have nothing to install.

I've upgraded setup on cygwin.com to the newest version from CVS.

I believe that the only user-visible change to this version is that
the version string is longer and it will ask if you want to delete
any cygwin1.dll's that it finds in your windows/system directory.

This version of setup is a precursor to a new version which will
have dependencies and categories. This version parses the setup.ini
file that has this information but does nothing with it.

If there are any problems with this version of setup.exe, there is
an older version available in pub/cygwin called old-setup.exe.

Send problems to the mailing list, please.

OK, I usually don't announce trivial changes in setup, but I just did
one I'd like people to try out. Specifically, if you need to supply a
username and password to get through your web proxy, please download
the latest setup (just click the "install cygwin now" link on
http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/ ) and try it. I took the
user/password fields off the main net config dialog, and pop them up
as needed.

I've also enabled server authorization, which of course won't work on
the standard cygwin mirrors, but would be useful if you had an
internal web server that required authorization, which had a local
mirror on it.

I've also recently change the /etc/profile that's generated to put
/usr/bin before /bin in the path, and to forcibly run ~/.profile and
~/.bashrc. All you have to do is delete /etc/profile and re-run
setup, even if it doesn't install anything.
