The above is due config being in text mode. Convert it to binary mode
and the warning will go away. IMO, this has nothing to do with 1.3.12,
etc.

In my case, the *real* problem is that some developers are accessing the CVS repository with a Windows CVS client via :local: access and I use :ext: (i.e., ssh). This causes config to become a text mode file... I currently access the drive as simply "//my-server/CVSROOT", and I have my source checked out via this directory. * spurious CVS error msg when using latest 1.3.12 + Exp packages @ 2002-07-10 21:16 Dylan Cuthbert 0 siblings, 0 replies; 5+ messages in thread From: Dylan Cuthbert @ 2002-07-10 21:16 UTC (permalink / raw) To: cygwin Hi there, with the latest versions of everything I get this strange error when running CVS. It doesn't *seem* to have any adverse effects (CVS keeps going) but it is an odd error to say the least. ' is missing '='ax error in //my-server/cvsroot/CVSROOT/config: line ' I've looked at CVSROOT/config and it is simply the standard distributed config file that got installed when I created the repository. It is all commented out. Anybody else seeing this message? Is it something to do with the network mount?
