I thought that autopoint was part of the gettext-devel package but I
don't find it there. After some searching it seems that there is a new
package: gettext-autopoint, but this package isn't listed with Cygwin
setup. Where can I get this package to be compatible with Cygwin
1.5.3?
thx,
Gerry Reno

Disregard. I downloaded a lot of packages and now after reboot
'which autopoint' shows it in /usr/bin. It is in gettext-devel.
thx,
Gerry Reno

How so? It's not a package in the Cygwin sense of the term.

It's not a package for setup because no one has volunteered to package
and maintain it for Cygwin. Feel free to do so if you're so inclined.

Yep, you caught me with that one too. While there is no gettext-autopoint
package for Cygwin, it's not necessary either. Please, no one offer to
maintain it for Cygwin. ;-) I should've checked the setup package
page (<http://cygwin.com/packages/>) for autopoint too before answering.
Hope no one suffered (or will suffer) a brain hemorrhage as a result of
my partial answer.

That is pretty funny. You might be surprised how often
I have heard this question. But asking someone else
entirely is a twist I haven't encountered.

p.s. FWIW I am in the process of releasing my Perl slides
online, and the book will be released as PS/PDF in its
entirety online in the not unimaginably distant future.
