Libxml2 is the XML C parser and toolkit developed for the Gnome project (but usable outside of the Gnome platform), it is free software available under the MIT License. XML itself is a metalanguage to design markup languages, i.e. text language where semantic and structure are added to the content using extra 'markup' information enclosed between angle brackets. HTML is the most well-known markup language. Though the library is written in C a variety of language bindings make it available in other environments. To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Save it and run setup, answer the questions and pick up 'libxml2' from the 'Libs' category, if you install it for the first time, click on the 'skip' field next to 'libxml2' until '2.5.11-1' is displayed. DOWNLOAD: ========= Note that downloads from sources.redhat.com (aka cygwin.com) aren't allowed due to bandwidth limitations. This means that you will need to find a mirror which has this update. These mirrors already got the package, the others will probably have the latest version of this package fairly soon: In the US, ftp://planetmirror.com/pub/cygwin/ and ftp://mirrors.rcn.net/mirrors/sources.redhat.com/cygwin/ are reliable high bandwidth connection. QUESTIONS: ========== If you want to make a point or ask a question the Cygwin mailing list is the appropriate place.
