The overall effect is that it takes a good minute or two to > get to doing some real work. I'm using W2K since B3 and I never saw _that_ one. On my machine PII 450, it runs fast enough. On the first glimps you wouldn't see a difference to NT4. So I would like to ask some questions: - Do you have network paths in $PATH? - Related: Are you working in a folder which is connected as drive? - Are you logged on as Admin, Power User, Normal User? - Are you using a virus checker?
