Bonjour:
I have just compiled with success
(up to a minor change suggested in archive)
`tar 1.13.17` in order to use the `-I' option (bzip2):
`make check' gives arbitrary results: some times only one test fail,
other time up to four tests fails:
has anyone fixed it ?

Do you mean the 'I' (as Italy) option ?
This option works as the `z' option:
`tar -Itf MyFavotiteArchive.tar.bz2' to list,
`tar -Ixf MyFavoriteArchive.tar.bz2' to extract, ...

The `tar' version distributed with the latest Cygnus does not it,
but the alpha `tar.1.13.17' does:
