Dear Cygwin,

Might I be able to use cygwin to generate Linux applications in a Windows
environment? I am trying to consolidate my entire build (multi-OS) on a
single platform (Windows 2000).

You should be able to use Cygwin to create a cross compiler that would
be able to generate the Linux application you need. If you need help
building a cross compiler see the http://sources.redhat.com page for
pointers to an appropriate mailing list.
