Then you have to set it prior to running any cygwin executable.
You can do this from Control Panel->System->Advanced tab.

You may need to add the name of your NT Domain account to 
/etc/passwd.  Refer to step 8 on the following page for an example on how 
to do this:

variable CYGWIN set to "ntsec" ? Do you log into the domain or into
the local machine domain ?

I just installed cygwin v1.3.5, and it seems to be working great.  However,
when I open a shell, whoami returns Administrator instead of my domain login
id.  How do I get a domain account recognized by cygwin?
