lilypond not installed

lilypond not installed

[Mike Hasleby]

I've just installed lilypond using the instructions on the webpage, the
setup coming straight from the website so am assuming it is the latest.
However when I type lilypond --help as instructed in the cygwin window I
get
BASH: lilypond: command not found
Is this version buggy?  Seems to be
Any help greatfully appreciated

Did you select the lilypond package?  The website says:

    In the Package View dialogue window, click on the Publishing section
    to view the available publishing software for Cygwin. Make sure that
    LilyPond is selected. If this is a new or first installation, click on
    Skip to select.

The output I got was, "no such file or directory"
I don't have any of the lilypond files in /usr/bin - it appears the install
simply installed cygwin only, none of the lilypond files are present

The lilypond binary (lilypond.exe) is in the lilypond package (latest
cygwin release lilypond-1.6.0-1). Did you re-compile lilypond from source?
or did you install lilypond from the cygwin installer (setup.exe)?

What is the output from ls /usr/bin/*lilypond*? By default lilypond.exe
lives in /usr/bin. Excert taked from http://cygwin.com/packages/:
