Under bash, gawk seems to have some difficulty with ends of
pipes: e.g.,
---- -------- -------- --------
C:\>echo foo | gawk '{print}'
foo
C:\>bash
$ echo foo | gawk '{print}'
foo
gawk: cmd. line:1: (FILENAME=- FNR=1) fatal: error reading
input: Bad file number
$ echo $?
2
$ /cygnus/H-i386-cygwin32/bin/echo foo | gawk '{print}'
foo
gawk: cmd. line:1: (FILENAME=- FNR=1) fatal: error reading
input: Bad file number
$ echo $?
2
---- -------- -------- --------
This is with Win95 with FAT32.
