Subject: Cygwin/X issues reported to x.org issue tracker
Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2022 16:03:41 +0300 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <CAET5FPvpQDXt60rdS+HAvjUVzD6ojYqzGQyogH8aZ9iPpgTuqg@mail.gmail.com> (raw)
Hello,
I've recently reported a couple of x.org issues, affecting Cygwin/X, to
x.org issue tracker. I'm not sure that's the correct place to report them,
so, just in case, I'll reference them on this mailing list as well:
* Showing a popup for a background window brings the window to front
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1345)
* Application loses focus on showing a non-focusable window
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1347)
The issues were originally reported for JetBrains IDEs (IntelliJ IDEA,
PyCharm, CLion, etc) used in WSL environment with Cygwin/X. They were
re-formulated in terms of simple native X applications, to factor out the
unrelated details of IDE and runtime (JDK) implementation.
The first mentioned issue is a long-standing problem, while the second one
seems to be a regression after the recent Cygwin/X fix for the
focus-related issue (
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1215).
Best regards,
