For me, this is only a problem because of the rebaseall error message.
(In other words, it is merely a slight annoyance.) I've no idea
whether this causes a problem for perl as I do not usually use perl
(at least directly).

c:\cygwin\bin> dash -c rebaseall
/usr/lib/perl5/5.14/i686-cygwin-threads-64int/CORE/cygperl5_14_2.dll: skipped because nonexistent.

/c> ls -og /usr/lib/perl5/5.14/i686-cygwin-threads-64int/CORE/cygperl5_14_2.dll
lrwxrwxrwx 1 26 2012-10-22 15:00:36 /usr/lib/perl5/5.14/i686-cygwin-threads-64int/CORE/cygperl5_14_2.dll -> /usr/bin/cygperl5_14_2.dll

/c> ls -og /usr/bin/cygperl5_14_2.dll
/bin/ls: cannot access /usr/bin/cygperl5_14_2.dll: No such file or directory

Perhaps
<usr/lib/perl5/5.14/i686-cygwin-threads-64int/CORE/cygperl5_14_2.dll>
is meant to point to
</usr/bin/cygperl5_14.dll> and not to </usr/bin/cygperl5_14_2.dll>?

Best wishes,

- Barry

Yes, I know already.
It will be fixed with the next update.

But since 5.14.3 much is worse than 5.14.2 and all 5.16 releases are also
not much better so far, I'll wait for the next good release upstream.

The wrong symlink can be ignored, and you can delete it by yourself.

There should be a symlink of
/usr/lib/perl5/5.14/i686-cygwin-threads-64int/CORE/cygperl5_14.dll to
/usr/bin/cygperl5_14.dll only.

Thanks for the explanation. I apologize if this was already in the
archives.  (I forgot to check.)

>The wrong symlink can be ignored, and you can delete it by yourself.

For the record, I was worried that if I simply deleted it cygcheck -c
perl would report perl as incomplete. So I changed the link so that
it pointed to </usr/bin/cygperl5_14.dll>. cygcheck reports complete
and the rebaseall error message goes away.

Thanks again,

- Barry
