Unfortunately, I'm unable to debug mysql-server with the version that
comes with Cygwin.
/usr/sbin/mysqld --debug=o,/var/log/mysqld.trace produces the following error:
"debug is disabled in this build"
"mysqld_safe --debug=o,/var/log/mysqld.trace" also does not log
anything of value.
