I've tried the instruction specified by
http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2001-03/msg00337.html and I still can't get
'login' working on my Windows NT system. The CYGWIN System Variable is set
to "ntsec", and I have regenerated the passwd and group files using
"mkpasswd" and "mkgroup" utilities. The "inetd" is running as a service, and
I have only local users. The cygwin version is 1.1.2 on Windows NT 4.0.
Below is a snapshot of the /etc/passwd. Based on the attached /etc/passwd,
as user "melody" who is also Administrator, I tried to login as "eoss" user,
the login prompts for password, and when I enter the password as defined for
"eoss" NT user, it complains with "Login incorrect". Can anybody tell me,
what could be wrong?
>login eoss
Password:<eoss NT password>

A search of the cygwin archives using
google reveals that on March 30 2001 in message
http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2001-03/msg01797.html Corinna Vinschen advised
Mark Calder that:
