Both nc.exe and nc6.exe were trapped by the corporate virus checker. The software allowed me to "restore" it, but when I try to run it I get "Permission Denied". However, after a few minutes, it's gone again. I'm guessing the virus checker software is doing it. Unfortunately, it looks like it won't let me create an exception for these executables, so I don't have any way to stop it from deleting them :( ... and I know better than to ask my corporate IT folks to make an exception for me :( -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 Return-Path: Received: (qmail 8293 invoked by alias); 11 Jul 2018 20:10:22 -0000 Mailing-List: contact cygwin-help@cygwin.com; run by ezmlm Precedence: bulk List-Id: List-Subscribe: List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: , Sender: cygwin-owner@cygwin.com Mail-Followup-To: cygwin@cygwin.com Received: (qmail 8187 invoked by uid 89); 11 Jul 2018 20:10:22 -0000 Authentication-Results: sourceware.org; auth=none X-Spam-SWARE-Status: No, score=-0.9 required=5.0 tests=BAYES_00,KAM_LAZY_DOMAIN_SECURITY autolearn=no version=3.3.2 spammy=trapped, H*r:Unknown, H*r:sk:1fdLP8- X-HELO: blaine.gmane.org Received: from Unknown (HELO blaine.gmane.org) (195.159.176.226) by sourceware.org (qpsmtpd/0.93/v0.84-503-g423c35a) with ESMTP; Wed, 11 Jul 2018 20:10:20 +0000 Received: from list by blaine.gmane.org with local (Exim 4.84_2) (envelope-from ) id 1fdLP8-0007yh-4N for cygwin@cygwin.com; Wed, 11 Jul 2018 22:08:02 +0200 To: cygwin@cygwin.com From: Mark Hansen Subject: Re: After installing nc (netcat), nc.exe is not found Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2018 01:30:00 -0000 Message-ID: References: <1208626880.20180711224101@yandex.ru> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/52.8.0 In-Reply-To: <1208626880.20180711224101@yandex.ru> X-IsSubscribed: yes X-SW-Source: 2018-07/txt/msg00116.txt.bz2 Message-ID: <20180712013000.z1SNkn4GH2d6G1Rd0qERr4dcihmzkNFb6bt91jpfSO4@z> On 7/11/2018 12:41 PM, Andrey Repin wrote: > Greetings, Mark Hansen! > >> I've just updated to the latest Cygwin 64-bit installation on my Windows 7 PC.
