It uses an embedded database in place of the traditional flat-text whatis databases. This is an update to the latest upstream release. Note this change in 2.7.0: Major changes since man-db 2.6.7.1: Upgrading from previous versions: --------------------------------- For the first time since version 2.4.0, the database format has changed slightly, so you will need to run 'mandb --create' after installing the new version to rebuild your databases from scratch.
