Hi Cygwin friends and users,

I just released 1.7.5-1. This release fixes a few bugs, mainly a
serious memory leak, and introduces a single new feature.

==========================================================================
NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE

Cygwin 1.7.1 or earlier users of LSA authentication using the cyglsa.dll
or cyglsa64.dll files *must* replace the old cyglsa DLL with the new one
from this package, otherwise LSA authentication will fail with the new
1.7.3 Cygwin DLL.

This is unfortunately necessary, but it should be the last time for
quite some time.

DON'T FORGET TO REBOOT after replacing cyglsa.dll.

Localization support has been much enhanced since 1.7.1 and the locale
variables (LANG, LC_TIME, etc) are now evaluated and require a *valid*
locale specifier to be fully functional. Make sure to read the below
changes to the localization support and *especially* the updated
documentation at http://cygwin.com/cygwin-ug-net/cygwin-ug-net.html to
get the full picture.
==========================================================================

Changes and bugfixes since Cygwin 1.7.4:
========================================

- Fix a memory leak when creating certain types of objects.

- Don't return NULL pointer in call to nl_langinfo(D_MD_ORDER).

- Fix a long-standing bug when duplicating tty handles via cygserver.
  Simplify code when duplicating tty handles within a single process.

- Support DEC Backarrow Key Mode escape sequences (ESC [ ? 67 h,
  ESC [ ? 67 l) in Windows console.

Have fun,
Corinna

The setup.exe is detected as some sort of malware in latest Comodo
Antivirus (I believe it's widely used in general but I don't know about
Cygwin community in particular).

I guess (and hope) that is a false positive and I notified the them on
the appropriate forum.

Some binaries are also detected as some sort of malware.

In the mean time if somebody wants to install the new Cygwin you may
want to turn antivirus off and then add setup.exe to the "safe files"

For backups done trough the shadow mechanism, the same.

Cheers,
